I only happened to strip my chainring bolt on my bike and need to replace 1 of them. Are all road cycle chainring bolt the same size? My chainring and cranks are stock from Wabi.

The threads are the aforementioned but the width varies depending on the number of chain rings. Brand sure you lot become bolts designed for single ring. Skillful take chances to supersede all with matching new set. Get bolts that take a standard allen wrench on both sides. I like to use grease, never had any loosen up.

As Near Trick says, length is of import. The sleeve (nut) cannot be also long! If it is, you lot cannot fully tighten the bolt, there will be a little looseness and you volition quickly elongate the spider holes and kill the crankset. With a single bolt fix you will be fine. (And longer sleeves can exist filed down. General rule: put in the sleeve, no commodities. Pushed in solidly, information technology should be short of the outer face of the exterior chainring and then no thing how tight you tighten the bolt caput, the commodities (or its washer) never contacts the sleeve. The sleeve just needs to be long enough to become (say a mm) past the within of the chainring.
